IMS teams up with BB for new application

The app will feature a level-wise questionnaire where a student can progress to higher stages only after clearing the basic levels. Giving further information about the same,Sunil Dutt Managing Director,India,Research In Motion,said,“Using your phone while studying was traditionally viewed as counter-productive,but today we see mobile technology empowering students. Study Buddy is a smarter way to prepare for some of the toughest exams in India. Amongst others,the application will also be diversified eventually to include Bank officers and Clerk exams preparatory tests as well as medical entrance tests.”

As part of of the deal,Vodafone will be on board providing a customised BlackBerry service plan on their Campus Pack,which includes the Study Buddy App,which will come absolutely free.

While Dutt declined to comment on the market share of the company in the higher end smartphone category,he did mention that the company is growing steadily in the country. The application however will not be available on their tablet the Playbook. “Users can however sync their Black Berry to it and use it,” he added.
