IBM trainee murder: cops say probing all angles

Three days after trainee techie with IBM,Darshana Tongare (21) was murdered,cops said that they were still clueless and were investigating the case to cover all possibilities. Darshana’a family members are expected to reach Pune from Nashik on Monday night for police inquiry.

Police officials denied that they were investigating the case with a specific lead. Dnyaneshwar Chavan,deputy commissioner of police,zone III,said,“We are right now concentrating our search on local areas and the city jurisdictions for investigation. We are also hopeful of some important clues from Darshana’s family members.” Nandkishor Bhosale Patil,police inspector,Hinjewadi police station,said “We have not received any important information from the teams that were sent to various places. We have come know that Darshana and Abhijeet Taru,who dropped her near her residence on the night of the incident,were in a relationship and knew each other since 2006. It would be premature to comment now.”

Taru had dropped her near her residence in Bavdhan on Friday night at 9:15 pm before she was attacked by a man from behind. Darshana called up Taru and told him about the attack. Before he could reach the spot,she was already taken to a private hospital by some of the residents. She was later shifted to Sahyadri Hospital in Kothrud,where she died due to internal bleeding two hours after the attack.
