On Thursday, the noodle-strap woman – Mandira Bedi – came-a-calling to promote Nokia Ke Asli Champions,an air cricket competition,at the Kalyaninagar IT Park. Bedi’s pregnancy kept her away from the limelight but now, having delivered her bundle of joy – Veer – three months back, she’s back on the circuit. Veer was born a few days after the World Cup. He was like a gift, hailing the country’s triumph, said she. Her tryst with the 2003 ICC World Cup Finals tops her ‘best memories list’. I first tread the cricket path with that event. India reached the finals but then didn’t fare well,” she recalled. Her son Veer goes off to sleep whenever he listens to cricket commentaries. “So I dont think he might ever want to be a cricket player! she added with a laugh. She is now gearing up for tinsel town. Either I am to play a bhabhi or a sister. For smaller banners,I am offered lead roles. Bollywood doesnt know where to slot me, she added.
