Lack of material hampers pre-monsoon repair work in Pune Zone
Lack of material has hampered pre-monsoon maintenance work taken up the power utility in Pune Zone. Pune Zone contributes almost 16 per cent to total revenue of MSEDCL and is among the best zones as far a transmission and distribution losses are concerned. As per the RTI reply received by president of Sajag Grahak Manch Vivek Velankar from the utility,of the 96 items, including cables and insulator, required by Ganeshkhind,Rasta Peth and Pune rural divisions for maintenance work ,the utility has only provided 17. Velankar said that this has forced consumers to purchase their own material. He alleged that several such instances have been reported earlier.
