A 17-year-old girl,who was drugged,kidnapped,raped and then sold into the brothel at Budhwar Peth was rescued by an unidentified person earlier this month.
The man somehow managed to get the girl out of the brothel and took her to Swargate police station and left. The girl then lodged a complaint there. The case was later transferred to Faraskhana police station for further investigation.
The police have booked one Kundan Gupta,Neha and Sunita,a brothel manager at Budhwar Peth,under Sections 328,343,363,372,376,504,506 of the Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA).
According to the police,the girl is a native of Uttar Pradesh. She was going to her aunts house by bus early this month when Kundan and Neha,who were in the same bus,allegedly gave her a chocolate that was laced with sedatives. When she lost her consciousness,the duo took her to a house in Palghar in Thane on August 4 where Kundan repeatedly raped her. On August 16,he brought her to Pune and sold her to Sunita.
Senior police inspector V M Gangalwad is investigating the case. A search is on for all the three suspects.
Meanwhile,a police team by inspector Shivaji Devkar and sub inspector Vimal Bidwe rescued two girls from West Bengal who were forced into flesh trade. The social security cell of Pune police crime branch arrested the brothel manager Pushpa Saila Lama (45) and booked her two accomplices.
