Girl killed in road mishap,1 arrested

A 20-year-old student died after the bike she was riding was hit by a speeding tempo at Law College Road on Friday. Police said she was entering the premises of ILS Law College when the incident took place. Police have arrested tempo driver Vinay Avinash Shivtare (27),a resident of Dhankawadi .

Deccan Gymkhana police identified the deceased as Tejal Kanchan Zape,a resident of Gokhale Cross Society in Shivajinagar. Senior inspector Manohar Joshi of Deccan Gymkhana police said,“As per primary investigation,Tejal was entering the premises of ILS Law College when the tempo hit her bike. Tejal suffered serious injuries and died later. We arrested Shivtare immediately after the accident.”

Sub-inspector V N Pansare is investigating the case.
