“This is a very busy area and the roads are narrow. The fire is believed to have started due to a leak in the cooking gas cylinder. There were some people and staff at the restaurant when the fire started but they came out immediately before it spread. The two fire tenders brought the fire under control in 30 minutes. No casualties were reported. We managed to take out four gas cylinders thus averting blasts and more damages or casualties,” said Fire Officer Rohit Ranpise of Pune Cantonment Fire Brigade.
