FIR against 6 for cheating 19 of Rs 72 lakh in crypto investments
Police said the complainant is an ex-serviceman and he came in contact with an accused in 2023.

Offence has been registered against six persons for cheating as many as 19 persons, including ex-servicemen and their family members, to the tune of Rs 72 lakh by luring them to invest money in cryptocurrency trading.
Rajesh Gorakh Yadav (40), resident of Purandar, lodged the FIR in this case at Chandan Nagar police station on Sunday. Police have booked the six accused persons under sections 420, 406, 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Police said the complainant is an ex-serviceman and he came in contact with an accused in 2023. The accused allegedly assured double returns within 20 months on investment of money in cryptocurrency. Also, the accused allegedly assured to give 10 per cent returns per month through the investment scheme.
Meanwhile, the accused persons held seminars at different locations to share information about how to lure more people towards investing in their trading company. Police said between 2023 and April 2024, the accused persons allegedly took money from the complainant and 18 other persons, but did not give them assured returns, thereby cheating them of Rs 72,74,158.
Police are investigating the case further.
