Ensure 100 MLAs of OBC community are elected To Assembly: Prakash Ambedkar
''If you want to protect reservation, you will have to ensure 100 MLAs of OBC community are elected to the state assembly,''said Ambedkar while addressing a crowd at Ambejogai in Beed district on Wednesday.

President of Vnachit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) Prakash Ambedkar, who has undertaken ”Reservation Protection Yatra” from July 24, has urged the OBC leaders to ensure 100 MLAs from the community are elected to Maharashtra State Assembly.
”If you want to protect reservation, you will have to ensure 100 MLAs of OBC community are elected to the state assembly,”said Ambedkar while addressing a crowd at Ambejogai in Beed district on Wednesday.
The VBA chief started started his yatra from Chaityabhoomi in Mumbai on July 25 and will conclude his yatra on August 7.
Ambedkar warned the OBC community that there were attempts to take away reservation from them. ”No political party is opposing the attempt to take away the OBC reservation. As many as 55 lakh certificates have been for inclusion in OBC community. Is this true or false? Nobody is coming forward to speak the truth,” he said.
Ambedkar said the main demand of the OBC community is that there should be separate reservation for OBCs and Maratha community. ”Both of them should not be included in the OBC community. There should be separate reservation for both,” he said.
As for the demands being raised by Maratha quota activist Jarange Patil for inclusion in the OBC category, Ambedkar said, ”The demand raised by Jarange-Patil is a political one. Political parties are making little efforts to resolve the issue.”
Calling for celebrating August 7 as ”Mandal Diwas,” the VBA chief said it was former Prime Minister V P Singh who had decided to implement the Mandal Commission report on August 7, 1990, paving the way for reservation of OBCs in government jobs and educational institutions.
