Dilip Chhabria’s DC Design to open its first sports car manufacturing unit at Talegaon

DC Design claims to have,over the past years,managed to redefine the concept of customised cars. Cars re-designed by DC have been featured both in Hollywood and Hindi movies. With the inauguration of Aadivenoo Motors in Pune on Thursday,DC Design has now 13 showrooms across the country. Chhabria said the company intends to open six more showrooms across the country in the coming months.

Speaking about the impact of the DC Design in the car industry,Chhabria,said he was hoping that the car redesign industry would go up to 3-4 per cent in the total automobile industry.

“Of late,there is a lot of demand for customised buses,and I see that the industry is growing,” he said. The demand from buses,he said,was from various tours and travels company,who are aiming to replicate business class comfort for bus travellers. “We have redesigned buses for Karnataka,Gujarat and Punjab,” he said.

When asked about the effect of recession on the car redesign industry,Chhabria said that as the industry mostly caters to the niche classes,it is not affected by the current slowdown in the automobile segment.
