For Amit Salunke,who had reached the city early on Thursday to pick up the vice-president (VP) of his company,it was a day full of ordeals at the Lohegaon airport. My companys VP was scheduled to arrive at 10.55 am from New Delhi. I had come to Pune from Mumbai to pick him up from the airport and have been stuck here. Initially,they said the flight would reach by 2 pm. However,its 2.45 pm now and nothing has been announced yet. The schedule of the whole day simply went topsy-turvy for us, said Salunke in the afternoon.
Raj Sharma,who arrived on a flight that had to be diverted to Mumbai,said,We were coming from New Delhi and were told that there was some problem with one of the defence planes and the runway had to be closed for a few hours. Our flight had to be diverted to Mumbai. However,we are happy that at least it was not cancelled. However,not everyone was as lucky. Phabhul Khara,who was on a wheelchair,came to know about his flight cancellation only after reaching the airport. I had to fly to Hyderabad. However,they told me only after I had come here that the flight had been cancelled. I had reached an hour before the departure time. If there had been some sort of problem,they should have let us know earlier, said Khara.
