District collector Chandrakant Dalvi on Wednesday urged the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to speed up its process of resolving the woes of residents of Urali Devachi by taking appropriate steps for stopping the dumping of garbage.

“The residents have put forth demands for redeveloping their land that has been unproductive due to the dumping of garbage. They have asked the civic administration to comply with the assurance of stopping the dumping in any open site,” Dalvi told reporters after the review meeting of various development works in Urali Devachi.

The civic body would study the demands and initiate steps to resolve the issue,he said. The PMC also gave a presentation on starting garbage disposal within each ward through vermin-composting plants.
