Judge refuses to entertain Col Singh’s complaint
When CBI special judge D R Mahajan asked NDA recruitment scam accused Col A K Singh if he had any complaints against the CBI officials,he started narrating various methods by which CBI was interrogating him. Singh’s lawyer S K Jain then intervened and explained to him that only complaints of physical assault and torture will be entertained by the court and he cannot object to the ways of CBI interrogation.
Lawyers’ meet on July 14
A state-level lawyers’ conference on ‘Role of Advocates in Strengthening Democracy’ will be held in Pune on July 14 at Ganesh Kala krida Manch between 9.30 am and 5.30 pm. Bombay High Court Chief Justice Mohit Shah,Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar,Justice V M Kanade,Justice R V More and others will be present on the occasion while Chief Minister of Goa Manohar Parrikar,Supreme Court Justice Ranjana Desai and others will be present for the valedictory function.
Revati appointed public prosecutor
Revati Mohite-Dere,sister of MLC Vandana Chavan and daughter of lawyer late Vijayrao Mohite,has been appointed as the government pleader and public prosecutor in Bombay High Court. She has been additional public prosecutor for the Government of India for the past seven years.
Chargesheet in Shirke murder case
Vishrantwadi police last week submitted chargesheet against three suspects in Shubham Shirke murder case in a magistrate court in Khadki. A copy of the chargesheet was also submitted before the Juvenile Justice Board in Shivajinagar Court,which is hearing the case against two suspects who are minors. The accused have been charged with kidnapping for ransom,murder,extortion and criminal conspiracy.
