Cops look for clues in crime records

Police suspect Dabholkar’s murder was carried out after proper planning and there is a possibility of it being a case of “contract killing”.

As part of the investigation into the murder of anti-superstition activist Narendra Dabholkar,Pune police are digging into crime records of the past ten years where firearms were used.

Police suspect Dabholkar’s murder was carried out after proper planning and there is a possibility of it being a case of “contract killing”.

A senior officer with the crime branch said that the investigating teams were looking at crime records where firearms were used.

“We are looking at what stage these cases are at and the information of the suspects – whether they are absconding,or out on bail,or in custody or jail. We have received information from 10 districts so far.”
