Come December,and wine drinkers rejoice. The Pune Gourmet Club (PGC) gets busy putting together its much looked forward to wine festival. This is the fifth year of the festival and it has only grown bigger and better. The lush lawns of the Rohi Villa Palace will play host to 17 wineries and an expected crowd of over 2500 foodies,wine connoisseurs and the wine newbies.
The two-day fest,which begins today at 11.30 am,will have different wine stalls,with the finest of Indian and international wines put out for tastings; food stalls with elaborate menus planned by PGC and executed by students of Maharashtra Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology; Latin dance workshops; and stalls with wine’s best friend – cheese. The club has sourced 25 varieties of cheese from across the country – Bengaluru,Kodaikanal,Pondicherry. Think Gorgonzola,Feta,Buffalo Mozarella,Burrata,Cacciota,Mascarpone,Parmesan and Ricotta. Swirl a sip of wine in your mouth,bite into the soft cheese and relish the experience.

Traditionally made from cow’s milk,this mild flavoured cheese will beautifully bring out the taste of the richly-flavoured wines.
Buffalo Mozarella
As the name suggests,this mozarella cheese is made from the milk of water buffaloes. It is soft,moist and juicy with a fresh,delicate smell.
