Artist Devyani Nalawade’s works are a blend of imagination,skill and vivid colours. Her paintings showcase the passing seasons and impermanence of life. They depict a strong play of light and shadows. Her work is on display at Malaka Spice,Koregaon Park,till November 15. The artist,who completed her Masters in Art and Painting from SNDT,Pune,uses mixed media and has held several exhibitions. She has also used her paintings to support NGOs.

Festive tunes

Sant Tukaram Vyapar Sankul’s Music Academy Hall came alive with varied elements of singing,playing and dancing on October 27. A Diwali Pahat was organised here by Pimpri Chinchwad Mahanagarpalika’s Music Academy. Some of the well-known artistes who performed included Pandit Shekhar Kumbhojkar,child sitar player Raees Khan Baale Khan and kathak master Pandit Nandkishor Kapote. Tabla players Sameer Suryavanshi and Santosh Salve,singing sensations Smita Deshmukh and Nandin Sarin,harmonium player Umesh Purohit,kathak dancer Milind Ranpise also lit up the stage with their performances.
