The event,which helped raise a huge sum for the Blue Cross Society,witnessed some of the amazing creations by young artistes
Amidst the pastel shades of nature,the city witnessed a splendid amalgamation of painting,music and art in the unique affair Ode to Art. This open canvas painting exhibition organised by Artz360 with the motive to aid the Blue Cross Society turned out to be an exemplary union of veteran painters and musicians and a rare delight for the art lovers of the city.
The event,which was held at Empress Gardens on Saturday evening,attracted the creme de la creme of the art circle including the presence of renowned artiste Milind Mulick. Falguni Gokhale,Aditya Shirke,Mukta Avachat,Ketki Pimpalkhare and Aditi Deo were others who showcased their flair for art along with Mulick. ” Also present during the event were Ashwini Dasgupta from Artz360. and Vijay Paranjpye from the Blue Cross among others. Guitarist Derek Julien was accompanying the artistes and as the eccentric strings from his guitar started mesmerizing the audience the abstract strokes and colors on the canvases got slowly transformed to beautiful concrete images. The paintings were auctioned off after the completion.
Paranjpye from the Blue Cross expressed his gratitude towards Artz360 for the innovative and artistic idea to aid the Blue Cross Society. The motive of fund raising was indeed successful as the painting by Ketki Pimpalkhare was auctioned for Rs 30,000 and the one by Mulick was auctioned for Rs 15,000. Much more is expected in the coming days especially from Mulick’s other classic creations,which will be displayed on sale for the next 10 days. Mohan Agashe,theatre and film personality,who personally interacted with all the artistes summed the event,”I enjoyed the event greatly. I particularly liked the fact that painters took music as a springboard to bring out the best of creativity in them. The paintings are really worth the price,that too for such a noble cause”.
