With city students shining in the CBSE exam results, there is a group of special students whose success has gone unnoticed. These are the students who have been diagnosed with learning disability but have managed to get above 8 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in the Class X board exam. Mohit Adhikari,of Orchid School, was diagnosed with dyslexia, but have cleared Class X with a CGPA above 8.

Shilpa Adhikari, mother of Mohit Adhikari, couldn’t believe that her son secured 8.2 CGPA. “My son was diagnosed with dyslexia in Class IV. He was in another school but the teachers there were not sensitive to his needs. Hence,we shifted him to Orchid,” she said.

“The best part about the teachers here was that they always took great care of my son without making him feel different from the other students. He is a great athlete and also won the best sportsboy trophy for this year,” she said.

Mohit was assigned a writer but he chose to write the exam himself. “I wanted to write the exam myself and pass with good result. Hence,I declined the services of writer,” Mohit said. “I had problems with Hindi. Hence,I chose IT instead of Hindi and in IT I scored 95 marks. I am really happy. I want to thank my parents, teachers and Priya madam for this,” said Mohit, adding that he wants to do Commerce after this.
