Three unidentified persons attacked and robbed a private firm employee on a road between Sancheti Hospital and College of Engineering Pune in the early hours of Tuesday.

Three unidentified persons attacked and robbed a private firm employee on a road between Sancheti Hospital and College of Engineering Pune (COEP) in the early hours of Tuesday. The man,Vaibhav Dnyaneshwar Narale (24),a resident of Chikhli has lodged a complaint at Khadki police station. Assistant police inspector S B Pol said Narale is a technician with a private company in Akurdi and had taken leave of 10 days to visit his home in his native place in Amravati. He arrived near COEP in a private vehicle and was walking towards Shivajinagar bus stand from where he was to board a bus,when three persons on a motorcycle intercepted him on a bridge near Sancheti Hospital and one of them attacked him with a knife on his head,police said. They took away Rs 3,100 from him and fled from the spot. Police have detained three persons on suspicion.

Landlord,son arrested for death of tenant

The landlord and his son have been arrested in connection with the death of a Yerawada resident Jinu Patel,who died at Sassoon Hospital on July 12. The crime branch of city police said that Jinu was attacked by the houseowner Suhas Ramchandra Gadkaris son Atul Suhas Gadkari.

Police said Jinu was staying as a tenant at their house in Nagpur chawl in Yerwada. Atul wanted Jinu to vacate the house and on July 8 both entered into a quarrel over the issue. Atul allegedly thrashed Jinu and he fell unconscious. Atul’s father Suhas rushed Jinu to Sassoon Hospital and said he was injured in an accident. Jinu succumbed to injuries on July 14 while undergoing treatment. During investigation,police found that Jinu had been beaten up by Atul before he was admitted to the hospital. Following this,a crime branch team led by inspector Sunil Pawar arrested Atul and his father. An offence of murder has been registered against them at Yerwada police station.
