On Sunday,at the Green Fashion Melange, hosted by Max Mueller Bhavan and School of Fashion Technology, the students of SOFT put up an interesting eco-friendly fashion show along with innovative concepts presented by designer Apurva Kothari of the organic t-shirts label ‘No Nasties’,Anita Ahuja of Conserve and designer Philippe Werhahn of Berlin with his two labels Kollateralschaden and Ting Ding. The first four sequences by the students highlighted natural fabrics such as khadi, handloom cotton, naturally dyed cottons, use of hand embroidery and traditional practices. Kothari and Ahuja presented a joint sequence, showcasing No Nasties’ cool, casual men and women’s t-shirts made using sustainable production methods and colourful and chic accessories designed by Ahuja, from waste plastic and tyre-tubes. In the final sequence,Berlin-based designer Philippe Werhahn presented an interesting mix of designs – models walked the ramp in dresses made from trousers and denims, skirts made from men’s shirts and jackets made from trousers.
