A 21-year-old MBA student was assaulted with a sharp knife by a 27-year-old man on Wednesday,reportedly out of one-sided love affair.

A 21-year-old MBA student was assaulted with a sharp knife by a 27-year-old man on Wednesday,reportedly out of one-sided love affair. The suspect,Kunal Sinha,who was arrested and remanded in police custody till Sunday,has told the police that he is a distant relative of the victim. Police said both the victim and Kunal are originally from Patna in Bihar. The girl is currently pursuing her masters in business administration (MBA) at a private college in Pune and is staying as a paying guest with a family at Tadiwala road. Kunal too has completed his MBA and is presently searching for a job.

Sub inspector S P Salunke said,“The victim was stabbed on her face,both hands and stomach.” The suspect has been charged under section 307 of IPC.

Pay arrears or face power cuts: MSEDCL

The MSEDCL has warned defaulters to pay up or face power cuts from October 25. Meanwhile,the utility has decided to cancel the leave of officials during Diwali.
