Several areas of the city will not have water supply on Tuesday owing to pipeline repairs in Kondhwa.

Water cut today

Several areas of the city will not have water supply on Tuesday owing to pipeline repairs in Kondhwa. The area gets water from Cantonment water works. Lullanagar,Salunkhe Vihar Road,NIBM Road,Undri Road,Kondhwa,Pragati Park,Pokale Mala,Wanowrie,Sahani-Sujan Park and Fakri hill will be affected . Supply will resume on Wednesday.

2 PMPML buses catch fire

Two PMPML buses caught fire on Monday in the city. No one was injured. Both fires were caused by short circuit. A bus caught fire near UoP flyover at around 12 noon. Hours later,another caught fire near Shastri Nagar bus stop. Tanaji Ambekar,fire officer,Shastri Nagar,said the driver’s cabin and some front seats were burnt. “In both cases,the fire spread because of leaking engine oil,’ he said.

6.5 °C as dip continues

The minimum temperature touched 6.5 °C on Monday,the season’s lowest so far,only 0.2 degrees higher than the second lowest December temperature of 6.3 °C in 10 years,in 2005. The lowest December temperature in a decade was 5.6 °C in 2000. On Sunday,it had reached 7.3 °C The weather department had predicted a further dip in maxiumum and minimum temperatures.
