Shubh Rawal case: Accused remanded in judicial custody
A magistrate court on Monday remanded Parmindar Singh (19),arrested for alleged abduction and murder of five-year-old Shubh Rawal,in judicial custody and sent him to Yerawada Central Prison. The Chatuhshrungi police produced Singh before Judicial Magistrate First Class K M Pingale seeking extension of his custody by seven days to investigate if he has any other accomplice. Defence lawyer B A Aloor opposed the police custody demand arguing that Singh was in police custody since September 24. After hearing both the sides,the court remanded Singh in judicial custody.
Man held for murdering paramours child
Dehu Road police have arrested a 22-year-old man from Varanasi for allegedly murdering his paramours five-year-old son two weeks ago.
The body of the victim,Akshay Patil,was found in the backyard of a school on Dehu Road on September 17. Police had suspected involvement of one Guddu Yadav who has an affair with Akshays mother Smita. Senior inspector Ram Jadhav said,We traced Yadav to Yusufpur village in Gazipur district of Uttar Pradesh. He was picked up from there on Saturday and was brought to the city on Monday. Yadav was produced before the magistrate court in Gazipur and was remanded in transit remand till Tuesday. Police said he forcefully took away Akshay from his mother and killed him.
Bribe-tainted forest officer gets bail
Range Forest Officer (RFO) Vishwas Bhadale,arrested by the State Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) last week for allegedly demanding Rs 5 lakh for not arresting builders wife in forest land grab case,was released on bail on Monday. A magistrate court ordered his release on a personal bond of Rs 15,000 with a condition to attend the ACB office every Monday for two months. Following Bhadales arrest,investigations had revealed that he owned property worth Rs 86 lakh.
