Sandlawood theft at police HQ
Two sandalwood trees were stolen from a senior police officer D G Kakads bungalow in Shivajinagar police headquarters. Constable Prasad Bhausaheb Thopte of the SRPF,Group – 2,Wanavdi,has lodged a complaint with the Shivajinagar police station. Police said two sandalwood logs worth Rs 5,000 were stolen. Assistant S-I Shinde is investigating.
10-hour power cut hits Kothrud
Most of the localities in Kothrud were in the dark on Monday for about 10 hours as a transmitter near NIBM developed fault around 8.30 am. A MSEDCL press note said a 132-KV electricity line broke near clover hills on NIBM Road leading to a power cut in Kothrud. Power supply to Warje,Kothrud,Dahanukar Colony,Happy colony,Laxminagar,Shahu Colony lanes one to 11,Wadar vasti,among others,were disrupted till late Monday.
