Adiya Birla Hospital,Chinchwad,— which was accused by a family on Thursday of not discharging their baby unless they paid the pending bill amount of over Rs 3 lakh — said on Friday they have discharged the baby after a mutual settlement with the parents.

Adiya Birla Hospital,Chinchwad,— which was accused by a family on Thursday of not discharging their baby unless they paid the pending bill amount of over Rs 3 lakh — said on Friday they have discharged the baby after a mutual settlement with the parents. “We have also provided a ventilated ambulance for the safe transfer of the baby,” the hospital said in a statement. The hospital said the parents of the baby have submitted a written apology,stating that they made certain allegations against the hospital due to some misunderstanding. “The family said it was shifting the baby as they could not afford the treatment,” the statement said. Hospital officials said they had discussed the issue with the baby’s grandfather regarding shifting the baby to some government hospital as the bill was increasing. The new born Rekha Kamble was shited to Aditya Hospital on March 23 with acute respiratory problem.
