Pimpri-Chinchwad Mayor Yogesh Behl said the civic body would shift all statues in the industrial town that impede the flow of traffic.

PCMC to shift statues to one place

Pimpri-Chinchwad Mayor Yogesh Behl on Wednesday said the civic body would shift all statues in the industrial town that impede the flow of traffic to an 18-acre land near the Bird Valley on Telco Road,Chinchwad. Behl said these would include those placed at various junctions,along roads,at civic schools or offices. MC Asheesh Sharma said this would help in avoiding trouble owing to desecration of statues.

Pet cemetery renamed

The pet cemetery at Nehru Nagar,the first set up by a civic body in the country,has been renamed as Chiranant Pet Cemetery. Pimpri-Chinchwad Mayor Yogesh Behl,former mayor Mangala Kadam,municipal commissioner Asheesh Sharma,civic veterinary chief Dr Satish Gore,animal rights activists Shriram Pandey,Nana Damle and Sanjeevani Pandey attended the renaming function on Tuesday.
