8-year-old dies in road mishap

Eight-year-old Rohit Subhash Rakhpasare of Wadgaon Shinde died after a tractor carrying sugarcane ran over him in Lohegaon on Tuesday evening. The tractor driver fled after the mishap. Rohit’s uncle Dnyaneshwar Rakhpasare (32) lodged the complaint at airport police station. Police S-I V B Mahindrakar is investigating the case.

Civic staff ignores our issues: corporators

Elected representatives in the PMC alleged that the civic staff was not taking cognizance of their complaints. “I have been writing to the administration on encroachment on the land reserved for garden but there has been no action on it,” said BJP corporator Vandana Bhimale. Additional city engineer Vivek Kharwadkar said the administration would revert on the action taken on each complaint within a week.

Proposal to start English medium school

The Women and Child Development Committee on Wednesday passed a proposal to start English medium senior secondary schools in the city as the students of civic body-run English medium secondary schools were finding it difficult to get admission in private senior secondary schools.
