2 killed in E-way accident
Two persons were killed and eight of the same family injured when the car they were travelling in turned turtle on Pune-Mumbai Expressway,at a spot between Kamshet and Lonavala early on Sunday. The Lonavala police said the deceased have been identified as Ramchandra Vithoba Gawade (63) and Mallikarjun Khandekar (62),both residents of Solapur. Police said the family was on their way to Mumbai from Solapur for a family function. The injured have been identified as Ritika Khandekar (5),Gauri Khandekar (35),Priya Khandekar (26),Amit Khandekar (21),Sarasvati Khandekar (60),Rajesh Khandekar (45) and Basavraj Baste (45). They have been admitted to Lokmanya Hospital.
Robbery on E-way
Three persons of a family were allegedly robbed of their valuables and cash worth 4.6 lakh when they had stopped on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway near Lonavala after one of the family members felt unwell. The Rasayani police said two sisters Sharvari Shetty and Kavita Doiphode and their brother Snehal Vellar were on their way to Pune from Vashi on early hours of Sunday. When they reached near village Panshil,one of the sisters started feeling unwell. As they stopped on the roadside,four to five unidentified men looted them after threatening them with sharp weapons.
Two electrocuted
Two labourers were electrocuted in Kasarsai village near Hinjewadi on Monday. Hinjewadi police identified the two deceased as Ishwar Wagmare (40) and Subhash Wadar (35). Further investigation in the case is on.
