Cheating case: lawyer’s custody extended

After Thakore’s arrest on Wednesday,police investigations revealed the names of six other suspects -Narayan Parvati Bhilare,Eknath Baburao Raut,Subhash Yashwant Dhumal all from Bhor,Madanmohan Thakore from Narayan Peth,a notary and sub-registrar from Bhor and Madhuri Chandrakant Mehta from Raheja Garden,Anjeliya building from Wanowrie who allegedly impersonated the owner whose land was sold.

Kisanrao Daulatrao Sonawane from Bhor has registered a complaint in this regard. Sonawane was told by Dashrath Subhedar Chavan and Chandrant Sampat Chavan that Saraswati Paranjape’s land was for sale.

Advocate Thakore finalised the deal for Rs 3 crore. Fifty percent of the amount was to be paid to Paranjape,while the remaining amount was to be paid to other ancestral owners of the land. According to the complaint,Sonawane paid Rs 1.35 crore in Rs 15 lakh installments between October 7,2010 and October 24,2010. When the handing-over of the land to Sonawane was prolonged,he inquired with the registrar office to find that the land owner Paranjape had expired in 1943.
