Two persons were killed and two injured after a speeding car rammed into a stationary luxury bus near Baramati in the early hours of Sunday. Driver of another bus who witnessed the accident reportedly died of a cardiac arrest immediately after the mishap.
As per the information given by Baramati police,the incident took place on Baramati-Morwadi road around 4.30 am when a speeding Maruti Zen car rammed into a luxury bus which was parked on the roadside. The driver of the car Shiraj Mohammed Khan (22),a resident of Chinchwad,died on the spot. A resident of Latur,Dayanand Siddhilingappa Kurdule (42),who was getting off the bus after it broke down was crushed between the bus and the car and died on the spot. Two other occupants of the car Ganesh Rajmure and Vishal Shinde,both from Bhosari,suffered injuries and are now said to be out of danger.
Inspector Santish Chavan of Baramati police station said,The bus that had broken down did not have any parking lights on owing to which the car rammed into it. The driver of another luxury bus that had come to pick up the passengers was the witness of the accident but we learnt that he died of a cardiac arrest after the mishap. We will be speaking to his relatives to inquire about his heart condition or blood pressure problem.
The deceased driver of the bus was identified as Abhang Rayrao Mahake (52),a resident of Nagpur. The injured are being treated at a public health centre near Baramati.
