‘Vichar Vimarsha’ is an art work on display at the Renaissance Art Studio,Baner road. It captures Lord Hanuman against a colourful background. Several other art works on display at the gallery too portray the spirit of Hanuman. An iron sculpture shows Hanuman in his fiery avatar,a dark red tinge capturing his vibrancy. Lined on both sides are several paintings that are odes to the deity. The exhibition,titled ‘Hanuman – Symbol of power and strength’,presents the symbolism of the much-loved figure from the Ramayana. The artwork will be on display at the gallery till March 28. Twelve artists from Delhi,Gwalior,Bhopal,Jabalpur,Coimbatore,Hyderabad,Bengaluru,Solapur and Pune have contributed both sculptures and paintings for the collection.
The show is being curated by Varsha Munot. Ask her about the idea behind the show,and she says,”Lord Hanuman denotes power,strength,loyalty,dedication,devotion and love. These qualities of Lord Hanuman can always be our inspiration and we can use these in the form of management tools in our domestic as well as corporate lives. Each artist has his /her own style and interpretation of the subject.”
Sketches,drawings and paintings by Ramesh Gorajala,Appanna Pujari,Arpitha Reddy,Praveen Khare,Suresh Choudhary and Sachida Nagdev present a colourful repertoire of images. Bhopal-based,73-year-old artist,Nagdev shares,”For my painting,I have used acrylic on canvas. It portrays Hanuman praying to Lord Ram. There is an image of Rama that is brought out in miniature style.” Nagdev has been painting for the last 50 years.
