PCMCs Varroc Vengsarkar Academy beat Mumbai’s MIG Cricket Club by seven wickets in the Cadence Trophy 2010 at the Cadence Cricket ground here on Friday.

MIG bated first and put up a total of a120 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 30 overs. Shreyas Khemkar played well for his unbeaten knock of 41 runs off 78 balls which included 4 boundaries. Aniket Chavan supported him well with 24 runs of his own.

For Varroc,Sanath Shah was the pick of the bowlers,bagging a couple of crucial wickets.

In reply,Varroc achieved their target with 3.2 overs and seven wickets to spare. The second wicket partnership between Omkar Ukirde and Ruturaj Gaikwad of 75 runs helped their team on to victory. Omkar ended up scoring 37 runs while his partner finished with an unbeaten 63 which included eight boundaries. Ruturaj Gaikwad was adjudged the man of the match.
