The police have identified the deceased as Sachin Dhondiba Sonkamble (28), an original resident of Roha in Nanded district.
His brother Vitthal Sonkamble (38) lodged an FIR for murder at Wakad police station in Pimpri Chinchwad on Friday.
As per the press release issued on Saturday, deceased Sachin worked as a driver on a private bus of Lakshmi Holidays travel company. Police said the bus met with an accident at Chakan on November 28, 2025. After the mishap, Sachin went to Mankar Parking, where he was allegedly found in an injured condition on the afternoon of November 29. He was initially taken to Aundh hospital, but was later shifted to Sassoon General Hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries at the Sassoon hospital this week, police said.
His brother then lodged a case of murder against four persons, suspecting they allegedly killed him over a dispute after the road mishap in Chakan.
Assistant police inspector Shrinivas Darade said, “Post-mortem of the victim’s body has revealed head injury as the cause for his death. No arrest has been made yet. We have detained some suspects for questioning. Further investigation is on.”
