The Vincentians batch of 1984 (VOBA-84) celebrated its silver jubilee – marking the 25th year of their passing out from St Vincent’s High School – recently. Over 75 batchmates and 32 teachers associated with the batch,including Rev Fr Kenneth Misquitta (the then principal),met after a quarter of a century.
The emotional get-together took place at Gulati Hall,St Vincent’s,with batchmates coming from the US,Sweden,Dubai,Saudi Arabia,Singapore,Hong Kong,Australia,Mumbai,Bangalore,Jaipur and many other places especially for the programme,said a release.
The Teachers’ Felicitation Programme was at the core of the event,followed by a pledge from VOBA-84 to make a significant contribution towards renovation of the roof of the school’s main building. The programme,involving re-introductions,memories and anecdotes galore,took everyone back to their school days. The attendees paid their respects to the teachers and batchmates who are no more. The Breakout Hour involved a photo session with the teachers and a walk-around-the-school,followed by lunch and a musical programme,the release said.
The VOBA-84 organising committee that helped reconnect batchmates across the world and make the occasion truly memorable comprised Imtiaz Lokhandwala,Abhijit Ranade,Harsh Datey,Bijoy George,Chetan Atre,Imran Sayyad,Prashant Shetty,Ben Nazareth,Olivet Fernandes,Abhas Niphadkar,Neeraj Vaddadi (Bangalore),Vivek Khopkar (Canada) and Prashant Hardikar (US).
