Amitesh Kumar new Pune police commissioner, Pankaj Deshmukh to be Rural SP
Retesh Kumaarr, who took stringent action against criminal gangs including under MCOCA as Pune commissioner of police, has been made commandant general of Maharashtra Home Guard

In a major IPS reshuffle in Maharashtra, Amitesh Kumar, who was holding the charge of the Nagpur commissioner of police, will be the next commissioner of police in Pune, replacing Retesh Kumaarr, who has been transferred as commandant general of Maharashtra Home Guard.
In other transfers, Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Ankit Goyal will be replaced by Pankaj Deshmukh, who was till now a superintendent of police with the Criminal Investigation Department. Goyal has been transferred as a deputy inspector general of police to the sensitive Gadchiroli range.
Pravin Pawar, who was till now holding the charge of the special inspector general of the Konkan range, will take over as the joint police commissioner of the Pune city police.
Retesh Kumaarr, who took over as the Pune commissioner of police in December 2022, took stringent action against criminal gangs under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) and the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities Act.
