To train the manpower of Piaggio Vehicle Pvt Ltd (PVPL) at Industrial Training Centre Boribhadak,All India Shree Shivaji Memorial Society’s (AISSMS ) Industrial Training Centre recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU ) with the automobile company.
Sanjiv B Deshpande,director,Human Resources on behalf of Piaggio Vehicles and Capt. Shivaji Mahadkar,honorary secretary of AISSMS Industrial Training Centre,Boribhadak signed the MoU. The agreement is valid upto December 2011. The MoU intends to trains workforce who have completed ITI in Diesel Mechanic and Fitter trade,as per syllabus jointly developed by both the institutions.
The syllabus focuses on overall development of selected workforce involving improvements in technical skills,soft skills,discipline and dexterity. Under the MoU,Piaggio Vehicles will provide technical industry specific inputs for automobile and aggregate assembly. It will also provide engines and working models of subassemblies during the training.
On successful completion of the training program,the workmen will be deployed in assembly operations. In India,the wholly owned Piaggio subsidiary PVPL produces cargo and passenger Ape diesel 3-wheelers and small 4 wheelers. PVPL is currently the second largest player on the Indian 3- wheeler market,with leadership position in the Cargo 3- wheeler segment.
The MoU was signed on July 14 at the Industrial Training Centre. The agreement is for three years.
