Journalism of Courage
Whirling Kalapas,known for neo-folk,mellow country and funky-acoustic rock music,is all set for its maiden performance in the city. The outfit will perform at Swing Bar and Eatery,Koregaon Park,on Wednesday. The trio Mahesh Tinaikar,Uday Benegal and multi-instrumentalist Sankarshan Kini will take the audience on a musical journey through their lush sounds.
Summer Reimagined
With the academic year coming to an end,Re:Imagine Learning Community is organising a summer programme for students between 10 and18 years of age,which will employ their creativity,entrepreneurship skills and innovation to solve issues affecting the city. As many as 300 candidates,selected from schools across Pune,will be asked to solve an issue in a months time. Registrations are open till April 22 on first-come-first-serve basis. Singing Mythology
Atul Date recently launched two CDs Ovi Ovi Gunphali and Meghdoot featuring vocalists such as Anjali Marathe and Sanjeev Mehendale. Date now plans to organise musical programmes in the city based on the CDs. Meghdoot,legendary playwright Kalidasas famous work,deals with Indian mythology where a yaksha,after being exiled for a year for neglecting his duties,convinces a passing cloud to take a message to his wife at Alaka on Mount Kailasa in the Himalayas.
