Film and television actress Madhura Velankar will mark her theatrical debut on Saturday,September 3,with the Marathi play Lagna Bambal. The story deconstructs how personality clashes can make or break marriage and the whole idea of love itself. Directed by Vijay Kenkre,the stage will also have Anand Dongle and Subodh Bhave playing key roles. This contemporary take on the age-old institution will begin at 9:30 pm at Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium,Kothrud.
Coloured mindscape
Artist Shailesh Sonawane is displaying his paintings at the Malaka Spice Art Gallery in Koregaon park. The exhibition that began on September 1 will go on till September 15. Sonawane,an electronics engineer by education,specialises in painting landscapes,seascapes and portraits and amongst others has been influenced by the works of his father,noted artist Manohar Sonawane. The exhibition will be on from 11 am to 11.30 pm. While Sonawane holds his painting exhibitions in the city regularly,he is also well- known for his live painting demonstrations.
