Inclement weather forced the cancellation of an IndiGo flight (6E 258) from Pune to Bhopal on Thursday. Airline officials cited reduced visibility and adverse conditions as the reasons for the cancellation.

Several passengers complained that they were not promptly assisted with an alternative flight.

Lavanya Mishra, a student in Pune who was expected to be in Bhopal on Thursday, expressed her frustration. She said, “The airline staff confirmed that my flight was rescheduled; however, they didn’t reschedule it and told me I would receive an email from the airline for rescheduling. I waited for a long time, and when I reached out again for an inquiry, the staff was unresponsive and unaware of the situation.”

Another passenger, who intended to travel to Bhopal to be with his family for the New Year, spoke on condition of anonymity. He said he rarely gets holidays, and the flight cancellation forced him to book another flight. “Although I reached the next day, I lost one day of my small, peaceful vacation from work,” he added.

An IndiGo flight (6E 6129), scheduled to fly from Amritsar to Pune at 11:50 pm on Thursday and expected to arrive at 2:10 am on Friday, was also cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.

Vijay Lonkar, a passenger traveling to Pune, said that upon reaching the Amritsar airport, he was informed about the flight cancellation due to low visibility and poor weather. “Three flights were rescheduled due to the weather: Amritsar to Delhi, Amritsar to Mumbai, and Amritsar to Pune. However, later, only the Pune flight was cancelled, not the other two,” he complained.

An IndiGo spokesperson, while speaking to The Indian Express, confirmed the cancellation of both flights, citing bad weather in Amritsar and Bhopal.
