Worli NSCI bus stop gets facelift; 600 more being renovated
Over 600 bus stops are being refurbished with well-equipped facilities, Lokesh Chandra, General Manager, BEST (Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport Undertaking), said. Of these, 30 are already ready.

With a library, CCTV cameras, and charging points among other facilities, the Worli NSCI (National Sports Club of India) BEST Bus stop has got a swanky look. Renovated at a cost of Rs 35 lakh, it has a fiberglass structure for commuters. There is also an alarm for women to seek help if they face harassment.
Over 600 bus stops are being refurbished with well-equipped facilities, Lokesh Chandra, General Manager, BEST (Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport Undertaking), said. Of these, 30 are already ready.
“Each bus stop will be developed within a price range of Rs 20-35 lakh. These should be ready by the end of this year,” added the official.
The bus stop will have a QR Code to check details on nearby popular places and available facilities like toilets.
There are over 3,000 BEST bus stops across the city. Chandra added the renovation work is being done using a public-private partnership model.
In lieu of advertisement rights, the private operator needs to take care of these bus stop maintenance and upkeep work.
They can earn money via advertising, the official said.
