Mumbai: Worker dies of electric shock while cleaning sewage line

According to civic officials, the incident was reported around 4 pm when the man was at work and there was an electric motor nearby.

A worker who was cleaning the sewage line of a private pathology centre in Kalina of Santa Cruz (East) was electrocuted Sunday afternoon.

According to civic officials, the incident was reported around 4 pm when the man was at work and there was an electric motor nearby.

The wires of the motor were exposed and the worker might have come in contact with it, leading to the electrocution, they said.

The worker was rushed to a local nursing home, where he was declared dead. Civic officials said an investigation is on by the local police.
