The young woman whose body was found stuffed in a trolley bag at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) on Wednesday was badly beaten up before she was murdered, claims a post mortem report prepared by JJ Hospital doctors. While there are injuries on her body, the cause of death was forceful strangulation, said T P Lahane,Dean,JJ hospital and Grant Medical College. Railway Police, meanwhile, are yet to identify the person on Sinhagad Express who left the bag at CST. We are talking to passengers who regularly take the Mumbai-Pune train. We are gathering CCTV footage from stations where the train halts, said S G Nekalikar, acting ACP crime (GRP). The body was found on platforms 8 and 9 at around 10.30. The woman in her early 30s was said to be 4.9 feet tall. This is the third case of a body being found stuffed in a bag in the past year-and-a-half. In March last year, the body of Mumbra resident Rehmat was found dumped in a suitcase at Sandhurst Road Station. The case was solved after an anonymous caller provided crucial information. The problem in such cases is ientifying the victim, said Nekalikar, adding that police hoped to receive a call in this case as well. Rehmats husband Parvez Haq,a doctor in a private hospital, his brother Tabrez and cousin Hashib Shaikh were later arrested. Footage from the CCTV camera (installed exactly in front of the compartment where the bag was found on Wednesday) shows two person running. Since the matter is well publicised,we expect someone will come forward or call police, said a source.
