At a time when the entire state will celebrate ten days’ Ganesh festival, Jarange-Patil has taken the decision to lead an agitation to Mumbai. As per his plans, the agitation will begin from his native village Antarwali Sarathi on August 27. He will sit on indefinite hunger strike at Azad Maidan in Mumbai.

“We will come peacefully, we will demand for reservation peacefully…once we get the reservation…we will go back peacefully…let me tell you…peaceful means peaceful…no incidents of arson, no incidents of stone-pelting…let us show our strength,” said Jarange-Patil.

Responding to Jarange-Patil’s call, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis told media persons in Mumbai, “The state government is committed to Maratha reservation. Our government has already given ten per cent reservation to Marathas.” He further said, ” In democracy, everybody has the right to place their views. We are ready to listen to their demands and consider wherever it’s possible.”
