Why didn’t education barons give reservation to Marathas in their institutions? Kiran Pawaskar
According to Pawaskar, “Uddhav Thackeray sold Kamgar Sena and helped owners of big companies in Mumbai."

The Opposition leaders’ attack against government over Maratha reservation is a ploy to gain political mileage. If Congress and NCP were so concerned about Maratha welfare, why didn’t the education barons give reservation to community students in their own institutions? What did they do for the welfare of Maratha students when they were in power? These were the hard-hitting questions raised by Shiv Sena leader and spokesperson Kiran Pawaskar.
Addressing the media in Mumbai, the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader said, “The Congress, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) and Shiv Sena (UBT) are using Maratha reservation for politics. Let us not forget Uddhav Thackeray was also CM. Why didn’t he ensure Maratha reservation? What right they have to criticise government?”
At least CM Eknath Shinde is making sincere efforts. “Shinde-led coalition government will give Maratha reservation which will be sustainable,” he said.
Talking about the diamond hub shifting to Surat, Pawaskar pointed out that former PM Manmohan Singh government granted the IFSC status to gift city.
What were they doing when work on diamond hub in Surat began in 2015? Why didn’t they talk about it then? Do they know why this diamond park went to Gujarat?
The exit of industries from Maharashtra, be it Vedanta Foxconn, Tata Airbus or Bulk Drug Park took place in 2020 when Maha Vikas Aghadi was in power. Uddhav Thackeray was CM of state.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) MP, while asking us questions, should have known these facts, he argued.
Does parliamentarian Supriya Sule know whose government was in power when Air India’s headquarters was shifted to Delhi? Companies like Regency Hotel, Larsen & Toubro, Khambatta Airlines have UBT party unions. So why did these companies close down? Pawaskar asked.
They could not get the gratuity for the employees of defunct Kingfisher Airlines. CM Eknath Shinde gave them justice.
According to Pawaskar, “Uddhav Thackeray sold Kamgar Sena and helped owners of big companies in Mumbai.”
He alleged, “Companies like Larsen & Toubro, Regency Hotel, Mahananda Dairy, Khambatta Airlines in Maharashtra were shut down, thousands of employees became unemployed. This is the sin of the previous Uddhav Thackeray government.”
