While on the run, brother of prime accused took his driver’s help to convey messages

The police said that as Bijlani was staying low, he used D’souza as his leg man.

Interrogation of Mahesh Bijlani and Anil D’souza, the two latest arrests in connection with the 2013 murder of builder Sunilkumar Lohariya, has revealed that D’souza acted as the go-between man, delivering messages and supplies to and fro while Bijlani was on the run. The police said that as Bijlani was staying low, he used D’souza as his leg man. A separate team is also interrogating Mahesh in order to verify the facts that have come to light in the inquiries against the other arrested accused so far.

“Interrogations so far have revealed that Mahesh contacted D’souza around six months ago and called him over to the rented flat in Bhopal. Since then, D’souza had been staying with Mahesh, running errands for him,” said a Crime Branch officer. D’souza has been charged with harbouring a fugitive.

Meanwhile, Mahesh is being quizzed based on the picture of the sequence of events that the police have built based on the interrogation of his brother Suresh and their fellow accused Anurag Garg, Bhupesh Gupta and SP Agarwal.
