It is time to dust off old comic books and put on your favourite superhero costume. The Mumbai Film and Comic Con (MFCC) is back with its second edition in the city. Spread over two days — Saturday and Sunday — at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Goregaon,the festival will celebrate the city’s love for comics,movies and popular culture.

At the festival,10 new comic book titles will be launched such as the illustrated book on Mahatma Gandhi by Campfire,Shiva – Book III by Vimanika Publishing,Tinkle Hindi Collections by Amar Chitra Katha Publishing among others. A new journal called Pulp Quarterly — devoted to news and features about the Indian comic scene — with comic strips by veteran and upcoming writers will also be launched.

Apart from comic books,there will be a special screening of Pakistan’s latest animated series Burqa Avenger and a panel discussion on Daisuki — one of the leading anime portals from Japan. Movies will be part of the festival as well,with special Q&A sessions with the cast of movies such as Tere Bin Laden sequel and Miss Lovely. The event will also have exclusive comic merchandise from across the world as well as host cosplaying activities.
