VJTI Mumbai records 77% placement rate for B.Tech students in 23-24
A total of 533 offers were extended by 255 recruiters, including 14 international companies participating in this year's recruitment.

Veermata Jijabai Technology Institute (VJTI) in Mumbai has achieved a placement rate of 77% for its B.Tech. students in the ongoing campus recruitment drive for the 2023-24 batch.
Out of 623 registered students from nine engineering branches, 478 have already secured placements. A total of 533 offers were extended by 255 recruiters, including 14 international companies participating in this year’s recruitment.
According to Prof. Dr. Nitin Gulhane, Head of Training and Placement at VJTI, another recruitment phase will commence in June, with a dozen more companies scheduled to visit the campus.
The highest package secured was of Rs. 57 LPA by students from the B.Tech. Computer Engineering branch, followed by Rs. 50 LPA for B.Tech. IT. These two branches also topped the list in terms of average CTCs, with Computer Engineering at Rs. 19.52 LPA and IT at Rs. 18.29 LPA.
The IT and software industry emerged as the largest recruiter this year, accounting for 33% of total offers made.
Prof.Gulhane attributes the success in placements during a sluggish job market to the institute’s strong industry links and hands-on projects that provide students with real-time industry exposure. Internships, starting as early as the second year, often translate into full-time job offers upon graduation.
“Students from various branches and years of engineering are combined in small groups to work on the industry’s problem statements as a part of curricular activity. Furthermore, internships start from as early as the second year of a four-year engineering course, said Prof. Gulhane.
Dr. Sachin Kore, Director of VJTI, commended the institute’s rapport with both Indian and international recruiters, stating that VJTI students consistently meet industry expectations.
Additionally, VJTI’s Training and Placement Office also assists students in pursuing higher education, with 89 graduating students opting for further studies this year.
