Visit to mark 1 year of Vishwakarma Yojna: PM Modi in Wardha tomorrow, to visit Vidarbha on Sept 26

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Wardha district in Maharashtra on Friday to commemorate one year of Vishwakarma Yojna. The PM will release credit to 18 beneficiaries under 18 trades on the occasion. Another visit of the PM on September 26 is planned for Washim district also in Vidarbha region.

An official statement issued by the government said, “The PM will release certificates and loans to PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries on Friday at Wardha. Symbolizing the tangible support extended to artisans under this scheme, he will also distribute credit under PM Vishwakarma to 18 beneficiaries under 18 trades.”

As a tribute to their legacy and enduring contribution to society, he will also release a commemorative stamp dedicated to mark one year of progress under PM Vishwakarma.

Apart from that, the PM will lay the foundation stone of PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park at Amravati, Maharashtra. The 1,000-acre park is being developed by Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). Government of India had approved setting up of 7 PM MITRA Parks for the textile industry.

During the visit Modi will launch the state government’s Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Center scheme. Training centres for them will be established in renowned colleges across the state to provide training to youth aged 15 to 45, enabling them to become self-reliant and access employment opportunities. Around 1.5 lakh state youths will receive free skill development training each year.

The PM will also launch Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Women Startup Scheme, under which early-stage support will be given to women-led startups in Maharashtra. Financial assistance up to Rs 25 lakh will be provided and 25 per cent of total provisions under this scheme will be reserved for women from backward classes and economically weaker sections as specified by the government. It will help women-led startups become self-reliant and independent.

As per sources during Modi’s second visit to Washim on September 26 he will pay obeisance at Poharadevi temple, an important pilgrimage centre highly revered and worshipped by the banjara community. The PM visit to the state is significant with Assembly elections due in November this year.

On Thursday night, CM Eknath Shinde, deputy chief ministers—Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis— will deliberate on coordination and seat division during the late night meeting at Nagpur. Fadnavis said, “Mahayuti will contest elections together as a team. All issues related to seat division will be resolved amicably through discussion amongst leaders representing Sena, BJP and NCP.”

Highly placed sources in the party said Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also visiting Maharashtra for two days on September 24 and 25. He will visit Nagpur (Vidarbha), Sambhaji Nagar (Marathwada), Kolhapur (Western Maharashtra) and Nashik (North Maharashtra). During his state visit Shah according to party insiders will hold region wise meetings with state party office bearers and leaders. It will conclude with a meeting of top state leaders representing all three pre-poll partners –BJP, Sena and NCP.

Shah’s visit assumes significance as he will not only address intra-party issues confronting BJP, but also Mahayuti. Apart from that Shah will visit Grishneshwar temple in Ellora (Sambhajinagar) and Mahalaxmi temple in Kolhapur.
