Two new Mumbai Darshan tours by MTDC from August 11

The fees for the tour will vary according to the package chosen by the tourists.

Starting August 11, the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) in association with the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking will launch two separate Mumbai Darshan tours, with different pick-up and drop points, and covering major tourist spots of the city.

While the first tour will begin from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), the second one will start from Dadar (E). The tours will cover key heritage spots like Bhau Daji Lad museum, Siddhivinayak temple, Bandra Band Stand, Nehru Science Centre, Mani Bhavan, Taraporewala Aquarium, Haji Ali dargah, Mahim dargah, Mayor’s Bungalow and the Gateway of India. Sightseers will also be shown the bungalows of celebrities.

“The launch of the Mumbai Darshan tours is one step closer to advance the current tourism scenario in Maharashtra. Through this initiative, we are not only aiming at highlighting the heritage that Maharashtra has to offer but also give a new outlook and revive the tourism sector in the state,” said Jaykumar Rawal, Tourism Minister, Government of Maharashtra.

The fees for the tour will vary according to the package chosen by the tourists.

“The tours will adequately increase the use of air-conditioned buses for BEST. Not only will tourists from outside learn more about the city but also help us earn better revenue for the undertaking,” said BEST Chairman Mohan Mithbavkar.
