Two men killed in high-speed crash in Vikhroli

Two men in their twenties lost their lives in a high-speed crash in Vikhroli early Thursday morning.  Siddharth Dhage (23) and Rohit Nikam (29) were in a vehicle that collided with a tree along the Eastern Express Highway in Vikhroli.

Both Dhage and Nikam were residents of Kannamwar Nagar in Vikhroli East. They, along with friends, had gathered to prepare for the upcoming Dahi Handi festival. According to their friends, the duo was heading to the station for tea when the accident occurred.

An officer reported that Dhage was allegedly driving recklessly, resulting in a loss of control and a high-impact collision with a tree on the footpath near a hotel. The vehicle then skidded to the opposite side of the road, and both men were ejected from the car.

Locals alerted the authorities, and the victims were rushed to Rajawadi Hospital, where they were declared dead upon arrival. A case has been registered, and further investigations are underway. Blood samples of the deceased have been sent to the hospital for testing to determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
